Unzer acquires leading technical network operator Lavego
Heidelberg/Munich, December 9, 2020 – Unzer acquires leading technical network operator LavegoAG from Munich. This strategic step will create new opportunities for Unzer, as the payment platform recently acquired several commercial network operators. With the Lavego acquisition, the group has now also brought a technical network operator on board. Subject to the necessary approval from the authorities, the deal is expected to be completed in Q2 2021. The parties have agreed to maintain confidentiality regarding the details.
Alongside its standard business, Lavego also processes transactions from technically challenging niche markets, such as petrol stations and vending machines. Sincethe companywas established just under 30 years ago, the team around founder Florian Gohlke has often remained one step ahead of the competition. For example, Lavegoemploys a dedicated team of developers to create the software needed for processing transactions in-house. They are currently preparing for nexo standards certification. As part of the transaction, Gohlke has acquired a significant stake in Unzer. "We aredelighted that Lavego has decided to go with Unzer and that we can now work together in driving projects forward.
