Jacob most recently held the roles of Global Analytics Lead at Klarna, as well as Managing Director at both SOFORT GmbH and Billpay GmbH. In future, the 40-year-old will work for Unzer at its Munich office and report directly to CEO Dr. Axel Rebien.

After completing his degree in international management, Jacob von Ingelheim held positions at various enterprises, including KPMG and Rocket Internet, before moving to BillPay as Chief Risk Officer and subsequently being appointed VP Analytics at Klarna. Alongside acquiring and underwriting, the experienced payment expert will also be assuming risk controlling, legal and debt collection duties at Unzer. These are all areas in which he already held responsibility in his previous position. Jacob von Ingelheim succeeds Dr. Axel Rebien, who previously worked as CFO at Unzer and recently took over the position of CEO.

"Unzer is in a unique position with a strong track record, ambitious investors and a fantastic team. In future, we will play an important part in the constantly changing European payment market. Unzer already boasts a first class, customer-oriented omnichannel offering and is keen to further expand this in future. I'm really excited about assuming the role of CFRO at Unzer and looking forward to working in the more agile environment that the company offers. One of my goals is to secure optimum integration of the acquisitions and collaborate with the management team in merging the organisations," comments Jacob von Ingelheim, CFRO at Unzer.

Dr. Axel Rebien, CEO at Unzer, adds: "In Jacob, we have acquired yet another top manager from the payment sector. He has already managed BaFin-licensed companies and offers us the perfect mix of profound financial expertise, knowledge of strategic business development and a startup mentality. We are delighted to have him on board at Unzer and feel certain that, together with the new management team, he will help take the company to the next level in terms of growth."

Just recently, Unzer introduced Sebastian Wenzel as its new Vice President Group Marketing, as well as Robert Bueninck as Chief Commercial Officer. Further management positions are also set to be announced over the course of the next few weeks. Alongside introduction of new product features, such as a self-onboarding tool for small and medium-sized merchants, the company was also able to record growth of around 40% and acquire many well-known customers in the last fiscal year.
