Munsbach, 30.04.2025 – The payment provider Unzer Luxembourg S.A. is proud to announce the signing of the Women in Finance (WiF) Charter. Through this initiative, Unzer reaffirms its company-wide mission to promote gender diversity and support an equitable financial sector.

Breaking Barriers: The Women in Finance Charter

The Women in Finance Charter is a voluntary commitment for companies within the Luxembourg financial sector. The WiF Charter's goal is to enhance gender balance and inclusion within financial institutions, with a particular focus on increasing representation in the three most senior positions (board of directors, executive committee/C-Suite, senior management).

Dedication to Diverse Perspectives

Unzer's commitment to the Women in Finance Charter underscores its dedication to gender equality, inclusion, and diversity, which have long been part of the company’s ESG strategy and leadership principles.

Birgit Bucari Kaiser, Managing Director of Unzer Luxembourg S.A., will drive the internal implementation of the Charter forward and states, "Signing the Charter for Women in Finance reaffirms Unzer's longstanding commitment to foster a culture where everyone can contribute and thrive. At Unzer, we know that diverse teams lead to better ideas, better performance, and more sustainable growth."

Lorenzo Avico, Deputy CEO at the Luxembourg Sustainable Finance Initiative (coordinating entity and data partner of the WiF Charter), adds: “We are very pleased to welcome Unzer as a signatory of the Luxembourg Women in Finance Charter. Fostering greater gender balance across the financial sector requires collective action, and the engagement of new signatories is key to this process. Promoting gender balance is not only a matter of fairness; it is fundamental to strengthening the resilience and sustainability of our financial sector. We look forward to working with Unzer to advance a more inclusive and balanced financial ecosystem."

About the WiF Charter

The Women in Finance (WiF) Charter was launched in March 2023 by the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association (ABBL), the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI), the Association of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies (ACA), the Luxembourg Capital Markets Association (LuxCMA), the Luxembourg Finance Labelling Agency (LuxFLAG) and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE). The WiF charter is under the patronage of the Luxembourg Ministry of Finance and the Luxembourg Sustainable Finance Initiative (LSFI) is the coordinating entity and data collection partner.

Signatories of the WiF Charter commit to implement a set of mandatory and voluntary actions, which are grouped into four pillars: Promoting the progression of women at all levels, including at senior and board levels; Appointing an Accountable Executive (AE) who is responsible and accountable for gender diversity and inclusion; Setting internal targets and action plans which will be integrated into the firm’s goals; Supporting transparency by publicly reporting on progress against these targets annually on the firm’s website.  Learn more about the Luxembourg WiF Charter
