Berlin, 07.06.2024 - Unzer is delighted to announce its partnership with EHC Red Bull Munich. Founded in 1998, the club was promoted to the top German ice hockey league DEL in 2010. The takeover by Red Bull in 2013 heralded an era of success. Since 2016, the club has won the German championship four times and is now one of the elite in Germany and Europe. In September 2024, the club's new home venue - SAP Garden - will open its doors in Munich's historic Olympiapark.
Together with Unzer, EHC Red Bull Munich has set itself the goal of offering an outstanding customer experience in payment. To this end, Unzer provides payment and software solutions tailored to the club's needs.
The multifunctional sports arena will be one of Europe's most innovative indoor sports facilities. In addition to the professional sports arena, the SAP Garden houses three ice rinks for recreational sports, a dedicated gaming area, and event rooms. The use of state-of-the-art technologies is part of the overall SAP Garden concept. This includes digital interaction options and a modern payment experience for fans.
Unzer will process all EHC Red Bull Munich payments and guarantee visitors a smooth payment experience on-site and when purchasing tickets online. With years of experience in the sports & entertainment sector, Unzer knows the requirements of clubs, event organizers, and fans alike. Together, Red Bull Munich and Unzer have made all the necessary preparations to ensure that the move to the club's new "home" is in the fans' best interests.
Christian Winkler, Managing Director Sports Red Bull Ice Hockey: "Unzer and our new home venue, the SAP Garden, stand for innovation. In addition, this partnership will improve the spectator experience and make it more positive, which makes me very happy for our many fans. With its Munich location, Unzer is a perfect fit for our club in several ways."
The POS Go mobile checkout and contactless terminals will enable payment in just a few seconds in the SAP Garden, the fan store and the catering stands. POS Go is already in use at some of Germany's top sports clubs and event venues, where it has successfully helped to shorten queues and improve visitor management. Visitors can choose whether to pay in cash, by debit, credit card, or via mobile wallet. With technology partner SAP, Unzer will offer fans innovative solutions such as mobile ordering of food and drinks from their seats—another innovative measure to reduce waiting times.
With its standardized payment platform, Unzer offers EHC Red Bull Munich all the prerequisites for unified commerce. The linking of customer and payment data from different sales channels provides valuable insights and enables a seamless shopping experience across all customer touchpoints.
Pascal Beij, Chief Commercial Officer at Unzer: "On the one hand, our software and payment solutions ensure secure and efficient processes. On the other hand, we support EHC Red Bull Munich in creating customer-oriented experiences. The focus is always on the fans, who want to spend an unforgettable day in the new SAP Garden."
