Austria Wien has chosen European fintech company Unzer as its new official payment service provider to improve the payment experience for fans. With Unzer, payment processes at the Generali Arena will be updated. The goal is to give fans a smooth, cashless payment experience, from buying tickets online to visiting the stadium.
Austria Wien wants to give all fans the best possible payment experience. Unzer will provide custom payment and software solutions to meet the club’s needs. Going forward, Unzer will manage all payments for FK Austria Wien, making sure fans can pay easily, safely, and conveniently both online and at the stadium.
Unzer’s mobile payment terminals are used for ticket sales and in fan shops. The ticket system connects to SAP through Unzer, and Unzer’s Shopify-based solutions handle fan merchandise sales. Fans can choose from many popular payment options, like debit and credit cards, pay-by-invoice, Unzer direct transfer, and mobile payment services such as Apple Pay and Google Pay. More payment methods can be added based on fans' preferences. Online banking payments are also available, making it easy and secure for international fans to pay.
All of Unzer’s payment and sales systems, from stadium terminals to online shops, work together smoothly. Data is sent in real time to a central dashboard using UnzerOne, Unzer’s unified commerce platform. This helps the club keep track of everything and manage payment processes efficiently.
Christoph Heinzle, Managing Director at Unzer: "Today, payments are made quickly and easily everywhere, whether online, in stores, or on smartphones. The same is true in stadiums. We make sure payments are simple and stay in the background so the experience at the Generali Arena stays front and center."
Sebastian Wenzel, VP Marketing at Unzer: "With Austria Vienna, we are welcoming our first major international club as a partner. This collaboration is a key milestone for us and marks the beginning of more international partnerships."
Benjamin Kollenz, Key Account Manager Austria Wien: "Our fans should be able to focus on what matters most in the stadium: emotions and soccer. With Unzer, we have a strong partner who takes care of all payment processes, making every stadium visit modern and enjoyable."
