  • Pascal Beij has assumed the role of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and will be responsible for business development and strategy in Sales and Marketing.
  • He is a renowned payment expert with more than twenty years of financial services experience.
  • With the appointment, Unzer strengthens its capabilities in connecting digital and physical shopping experiences.

Unzer, a company providing payment and commerce solutions, is expanding its management team and is delighted to welcome Pascal Beij as its new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Beij will oversee business development and strategy in the Sales and Marketing departments with immediate effect.

The appointment is part of Unzer’s move to reinforce its strategy of providing companies with integrated payment and software solutions. Robert Bueninck, CEO at Unzer, comments: "With our strategy in mind, asking Pascal to join us was a natural decision. We are delighted to welcome such an experienced manager who is fully committed to offering customers a seamless shopping experience across all channels."

Prior to joining Unzer, Pascal Beij worked for payment service provider Planet, most recently managing the company's business in Central Europe as Senior Vice President Retail. He has twenty years of experience in the payment and financial services industry with a particular focus on the customer journey. Working to the maxim of combined retail, he adopted an integrative approach to sales channels and payment methods as a way of offering retailers a consistent experience.

Pascal Beij explains: “The way consumers shop and use the various retail channels nowadays is increasingly individualized and diverse. Retailers must cater to these habits and find a partner that not only understands but is also capable of handling these complex processes. This is precisely what Unzer does, which is why I am excited to support the company as CCO.”

We deliver a platform that connects offline and online stores and lays the basis for unified commerce. With Pascal, we have found an absolute expert to inspire customers with a seamless and intuitive shopping experience.

Robert Bueninck, CEO at Unzer

Robert Bueninck adds: "We offer services and products that go far beyond just payment. Pascal shares our vision of combining service, technology and payment to help merchants start, run, and grow their business. He knows how to increase awareness and raise the profile of the brand, while convincing retailers of the idea of connecting their sales channels and payment methods and software solutions. I feel certain that we have found the perfect person for this task in Pascal."

Unzer has set itself the target of accompanying and supporting retailers in their transformations. In November 2022, the company presented its UnzerOne unified commerce platform, which combines offline and online shops with one another across various devices and marketplaces. Retailers can now view, monitor and use all sales channels in one place, together with customer, sales and product data. On top of that, Unzer is looking to use the platform to offer additional services and software that retailers can add flexibly in the same way as an app store.
