Munsbach, July 11th, 2025 – Unzer, a leading provider of payment and software solutions, has launched its Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) product under its Luxembourgish payment licence. The solution combines invoice, instalment, and direct debit options into a single, seamless interface for both e-commerce and point-of-sale transactions.

With this launch, Unzer’s BNPL offering follows a white-label approach, meaning it remains invisible during the checkout process. This allows retailers to manage all payment steps under their own branding and design, strengthening customer trust and loyalty while reducing cart abandonment. Merchants can fully customise the checkout experience to match their brand identity.

Unzer’s BNPL empowers Luxembourg-based merchants to expand into key neighbouring markets including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands – backed by a fully licensed, locally rooted platform. Transactions are processed through a platform that synchronizes sales, product, and customer data in real time, regardless of how or where the purchase occurs. The company has also introduced instalment and invoice options directly at the point of sale, enabling retailers to offer a seamless shopping experience across online and offline channels.

Robert Bueninck, CEO of Unzer, explains: “We understand that merchants are looking for the convenience of a single provider, and that’s exactly what we deliver. By offering all-in-one solutions—from POS systems to online payments—Unzer gives them everything they need in one place, backed by a single, powerful platform. This approach has been highly valued by our merchants and perfectly aligns with our mission to empower merchants to focus on growing their businesses.”

Looking ahead, Unzer will enable merchants to accept payments via Wero, Europe’s newest digital wallet. Already live in Germany, France, and Belgium, Wero allows users to send and receive money instantly between bank accounts using only a phone number, email address, or QR code.

In Luxembourg, consumer rollout of Wero is planned for mid-2026, with merchant migration from the local Payconiq system beginning by the end of 2025. Unzer will assist merchants with the technical integration of Wero, provide guidance during the transition, and ensure ongoing support so that both merchants and consumers experience a smooth migration from Payconiq to Wero.

Robert Bueninck adds: “Unzer’s continued investment in Luxembourg reflects our strong commitment to this digitally advanced market. With a growing team and a local license in place, we are uniquely positioned to simplify commerce and accelerate digital adoption for small and medium-sized merchants in Luxembourg and beyond.”
