Berlin, September 24, 2025 – Unzer, a leader in payment and software solutions, has announced its financial results for 2024. For 2024, adjusted EBITDA reached €31.9 million, marking a significant increase from the previous year's adjusted EBITDA of €27.4 million, an increase of 16%. Unzer also reported a revenue of €220.5 million, marking a positive growth of 6.7% compared to the previous year's revenue of €206.7 million. Gross profit rose from €111.2 million to €123.7 million, an increase of 14%.

Unified Commerce Strategy Drives Success

While Unzer’s individual products performed well, the company’s strength lies in offering a fully integrated, all-in-one solution for merchants. Over time, the company has built an ecosystem that covers all aspects of the payment journey – from online and in-person payments to debt collection services and integrated commerce software.

One particularly promising segment we call Unified Commerce, which bundles software and payment solutions to help merchants digitise and grow. In this segment, Unzer achieved over 32% year-over-year growth, reinforcing its strategic focus on integrating payments and software into a seamless offering.

Robert Bueninck, CEO of Unzer, commented: “We set out to grow profitably – and we did just that. It’s really encouraging to see how well our strategy in combining our product offerings into one Unified Commerce offering is being picked up by the market. And what’s even more exciting is the untapped potential we still see, especially among small and mid-sized businesses in our core markets. There’s a lot more we can do.”

In line with its strategic focus, Unzer also expanded its product offering with features that simplify everyday operations for merchants. New launches included an online booking tool, a table management feature for restaurants, and a click-to-pay option for card transactions. The company also broadened its checkout system, enabling customers to use invoice, instalments, and direct debit for in-store purchases – bringing the ease of “Buy Now, Pay Later” into physical retail.

Momentum continues in 2025

Building on this foundation, Unzer has already introduced several innovations in 2025. Together with Mastercard, it launched Unzer Direct Transfer, an open banking–powered solution that lets customers pay directly from their bank accounts. In addition, Unzer partnered with the European Payments Initiative to support the rollout of Wero, Europe’s new digital wallet.

The company is also investing in AI-driven capabilities to improve both internal efficiency and the merchant experience. Later this year, Unzer will expand its acquiring services to include payments from physical stores and plans to introduce POS solutions in Scandinavia, following recent rollouts in Austria and Luxembourg.

Looking ahead, Unzer sees clear demand for integrated payment solutions that help small and mid-sized businesses digitise. Robert Bueninck said: “We’ve made real progress – and we’re not slowing down. Our focus is on what matters most: helping merchants run their businesses more smoothly and grow sustainably. We’re investing in the right areas, and we’re excited about what’s next.”
