Vienna, 23 October 2025 – The payment company Unzer has signed the Austrian Diversity Charter. This sends a clear signal to all countries in which Unzer operates that it promotes gender diversity and equal opportunities, underlining its commitment to a discrimination-free workplace.
Stefanie Hohenstatt, Head of Human Resources at Unzer, explains: "For us, diversity is not an add-on, but a prerequisite for a modern company. We want to create structures in which everyone can fulfil their potential. Diversity is therefore a natural part of our sustainability strategy, with clear goals for gender equality, well-being and lifelong learning."
By signing the charter, Unzer is committing to promoting open and respectful cooperation. All employees should have equal opportunities, regardless of their gender, origin, religion, disability, age or sexual orientation. Different perspectives and experiences are valued as assets by the company. For Unzer, signing the charter also means regularly reviewing its own practices and further developing its structures.
Christoph Heinzle, Managing Director of Unzer Austria, adds: "Diversity is not a one-time task, but an ongoing process. Everyone at Unzer brings their own story with them, enriching our corporate culture. By signing the charter, we are reaffirming our commitment to equality and mutual respect."
Over the past twelve months, Unzer has launched several initiatives to promote social sustainability. These include an internal mental well-being platform, a 360° feedback process and standardised career paths. Unzer also places great importance on employee participation and open communication. A culture of speaking up encourages employees to openly address concerns, both through official channels and in their daily interactions with each other.
This year, Unzer has signed the Diversity Charter in Austria and made corresponding voluntary commitments in Germany, Luxembourg and Denmark.
Unzer helps companies go digital with simple and integrated payment and software solutions. Whether it’s shopping in-store, on mobile or online, or handling payments and daily business tasks, Unzer offers everything businesses need in one place – an ecosystem that makes retail simpler, more efficient and seamless for consumers.
More than 85,000 merchants across Europe already use Unzer's ecosystem. The company employs around 750 people in eight offices in Germany, Austria, Denmark and Luxembourg.
The Diversity Charter is a clear, public and voluntary commitment by Austrian companies, institutions and organisations to value and recognise diversity. By signing the charter, companies and employers pledge to value all individuals, regardless of their gender, skin colour, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, worldview, disability, age, sexual orientation, or identity. Since its foundation in 2010, around 450 Austrian companies and institutions have signed the charter.
