  • Quickpay celebrates 20 years as a leading Fintech brand, supporting over 30,000 webshops and handling 4 million transactions monthly.
  • Thanks to its comprehensive payment gateway and its elaborate growth, Quickpay has been recognized as Denmark's most skilled in the industry category of finance IT.
  • Backed by Unzer, Quickpay aims to create a fluid and cohesive shopping journey across all channels by offering unified commerce solutions to Danish merchants and beyond.

Quickpay stands among the Danish fintech pioneers who have played a significant role in the development of online payments and the fintech ecosystem at large. This year, its product of the same name turns 20 years old, and the company behind it can celebrate two decades of continuous growth, a very strong position in the Danish market, and the title of Denmark's most successful fintech company.

Measured by the over 30,000 webshops currently utilizing Quickpay as their gateway for online payments, the jubilee company stands today as one of the largest in Denmark. Over 4 million transactions are processed through Quickpay every month.

Over the years, the company has established a solid foundation by focusing on the retail sector's need for an easy solution, allowing their customers to pay using virtually all online payment methods, including debit and credit card payments, Klarna, as well as mobile wallets such as MobilePay, Google Pay, and Apple Pay. Additionally, Quickpay can be seamlessly integrated with a multitude of different shop systems.

Quickpay Boosts Danish E-Commerce with Fast, Secure Payments

Quickpay gained traction at a time when webshops were required to have a PCI license, i.e., a license for secure transfer and storage of cardholder data. Prior to that, each webshop had its own payment gateway. “We were able to offer webshops a secure gateway for many different payment methods, thus eliminating cumbersome processes. Quickpay aimed then – as it does now – to solve technical challenges, and therefore, innovation has been at the core of our business throughout the years,” says Mark Eskelund Pedersen, Commercial Lead at Quickpay.

Quickpay has not only contributed to the development of the fintech industry in Denmark, but has also made it easier for Danish webshops to conduct e-commerce. "From the outset, we aimed to push the boundaries of what is possible in online payment. What set us apart was the fact that we offered a secure and reliable payment gateway for virtually all online payment methods and integrated with many different shop systems. As a webshop, you can get started in minutes instead of days or weeks,” he says.

Denmark's Most Skilled Fintech Company

Going forward, and building on Unzer's extensive product suite, Quickpay will focus on unified commerce and expand its services throughout the Nordic countries. By integrating both offline and online sales channels along with supplementary software solutions into a cohesive platform, the entitiy is set to deliver a seamless customer experience across all touchpoints. Consequently, merchants can manage everything from online to in-store payments and the underlying business and management processes in one central system with real-time data. This strategy not only enhances business resilience but also positions these merchants at the forefront of the retail industry in Scandinavia.

Unzer CEO Robert Bueninck comments: “With Quickpay, Unzer will help merchants across the Nordic region to delight their customers with a truly seamless shopping journey. By integrating payment data across all channels in real time, we're not just processing transactions – we're crafting experiences in a world where the lines between in-store, online, and mobile are blurred.”
